The scope of local trade shows
In 2010 the exhibition sector contributed an estimated £11 billion to the UK economy, equivalent to 0.4% of the country’s GNP in that year. The industry generates 148,500 direct jobs, which represents 0.5% of the total jobs in the United Kingdom.
Local and national government are mindful of the economic impact of the exhibition industry and encourage it.
