SITEVI, the world’s leading event for materials, equipment and services in the vine/wine and fruit/vegetables/olive sectors, was held in Montpellier (France) between 1 and 3 December 2009. The event once again proved to be a major hit with professionals in the sector.
A larger number of exhibitors from a more diverse range of backgrounds for the fruit/vegetables/olive sector
This year saw an increase in exhibitor numbers of 34% compared with 2007. This increase was due in part to the new sectors represented at SITEVI 2009: olive-growing, cold stores, greenhouses and more. Most of the exhibitors in this sector were from countries with the largest fruit and vegetable output in Europe: Spain, France and Italy.
The new area dedicated to renewable energies (Hall 14) proved to be extremely popular with exhibitors and visitors with already-confirmed projects, who enjoyed the opportunity to explore equipment related to rain water recovery, solar thermal and photovoltaic energy, small wind turbines, biomass, and more.
During the three-day show, more than 2,000 people took part in 19 talks, 20 workshops and 3 field visits. These events scored a satisfaction rate of around 95%. They provided professionals with practical and effective solutions to help them revitalize their products and services. It also provided an opportunity for the participants to exchange ideas about the vine/wine and fruit/vegetables/olive sectors more generally.
